QM Power
QM Power is a Kansas City-based motor technology company that has developed two patented motor platforms targeting energy efficiency in HVAC, refrigeration, and electric vehicle applications. Its Q-Sync technology eliminates the AC-to-DC-to-AC power conversion chain found in conventional electronically commutated motors, operating directly at AC line frequency to dramatically reduce energy consumption in fan motor applications for refrigerated display cases and HVAC systems. Its Q-Mag technology introduces a hybrid permanent magnet and electromagnet stator with a magnet-free rotor, targeting high torque density applications including electric vehicles and micro-mobility. QM Power has collaborated with the US Department of Energy, Purdue University, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and other research institutions to validate and develop its motor technology.
