Powertec, a business of HBD Industries and sister company to Ohio Electric Motors, manufactures custom permanent magnet AC (PMAC) brushless motors designed for high dynamic response, wide speed range, and energy efficiency in demanding industrial and specialty applications. Powertec motors are built in NEMA motor frames and are engineered for high power density, minimum 95% efficiency at rated load, and low inertia — making them suitable for applications such as electric mining shovels, marine systems, electric starter systems, and high-RMS duty cycles. All motors are manufactured in the USA to customer specifications, with options covering magnets, enclosures, mounting, brakes, shaft configurations, frame and stator windings, and feedback devices.
