HyProMag is a UK-based rare earth magnet recycling company founded in 2018 by leading academics from the University of Birmingham’s Magnetic Materials Group, and is now 100% owned by Maginito Limited, a subsidiary of TSX-V and AIM-listed Mkango Resources Ltd. The company is the developer and commercializer of Hydrogen Processing of Magnet Scrap (HPMS), a patented, highly energy-efficient technology that uses hydrogen gas to extract and demagnetize NdFeB alloy powders directly from magnets embedded in end-of-life products and manufacturing scrap — without requiring mechanical shredding or wet chemical processing — preserving the alloy’s microstructure for direct reuse as sintered magnet feedstock. HyProMag is deploying its HPMS technology across facilities in the UK, Germany, and the United States, and participates in multiple European and UK research consortia including the RaRE, REAP, REEsilience, and SCREAM projects, positioning it as one of the most technically advanced and internationally active NdFeB magnet recycling companies in operation.
