The company opened its state-of-the-art NdFeB permanent magnet production facility in Sumter County in fall 2025, backed by a $335 million financing package, a $111.9 million Qualifying Advanced Energy Project Tax Credit, and a $94.1 million Defense Production Act Title III grant from the US Department of Defense — making it one of the most significant rare earth magnet manufacturing investments in American history. The facility is anchored by a binding long-term supply agreement with General Motors to produce permanent magnets for EV motors, and supplies rare earth magnets for critical defense programs including the F-35, unmanned aerial vehicles, and advanced radar and guidance systems, positioning e-VAC as a cornerstone of the US domestic rare earth magnet supply chain.
