American Rotors is a third-generation, family-owned rotor manufacturer based in Gurnee, Illinois, with over 60 years of experience producing aluminum die-cast rotors for fractional horsepower AC induction motors. Founded in 1960 by Chuck Stark, the company began by stacking rotors for other manufacturers before adding in-house die-casting in 1976, allowing it to deliver fully finished rotors directly to OEM customers. Using 99.7% pure aluminum from Alcan and Alcoa, American Rotors offers a complete manufacturing process under one roof — including casting, de-gating, centerless grinding, and lamination stacking and skewing — with individual visual inspection at each process station to ensure consistent quality.
